The keynote of PAPERWORLD, «Think future!», outlined the main tendencies of this year’s business activities. World’s leading printer manufacturers (including, of course, scanner, multifunctional device and minipress manufacturers - Epson, HP , Lexmark , Ricoh – Rocker, Xerox, Kyosera Mita and others) were presented at the exhibition in halls 1, 1.2, 2 and 3.
Dominant position, not only due to the number of brands presented or the occupied space, was held by manufacturers and suppliers of consumables – all types of paper mediums for inject, laser and other kinds of printing, inks, cartridges, toners, etc. Leading companies of Germany - Felix Schoeller, Pelikan, Folex, Japan – Mitsubishi и Marubeni, Switzerland – Sihl, Ilford Imaging, Star Coating and Great Britain –ICI Imagedata & Lomond were presented. Since 2005 Lomond is a permanent participant of PAPERWORLD. This year Lomond`s booth was noticeably enlarged and renewed. Our managers noted growing interest of west-european distributors in Lomond’s production. It should be noted that the list of participants is being frequently changed and renewed, but the key players constantly participate in this exhibition, demonstrating new developments and permanency in chosen business activity.
There was, however, one significant difference from the previous PAPERWORLD exhibitions - manufacturers of photographic materials participated this year for the first time, though it is well known that Eastman Kodak, FujiFilm and Ferrania manufacture different types of paper mediums for inject, laser and other kinds of printing. It seems that these companies begin to gradually cede the leading positions to those, which specialize in manufacturing only the types of mediums listed above. A workshop was held during the exhibition - Imaging Symposium, where tendencies of development of tools and methods of information logging in 2007 - 2009 were discussed.
The exhibition was perfectly organized, it was notable for high activity of participators and specialists who visited this world forum.
