The third issue of The Lomond Review (TLR) is dedicated to the analysis of a special group of materials and products determining the longevity of a printed image. These are albums, frames, instruments of after-print processing and transfer materials, which make virtual images a reality. At the present time the emphasis in the conception of photoimaging is placed more on sharing rather than on capture of the image. The question at issue is the quality of communication. Spontaneous stream of consciousness is of no interest anymore. In order to receive a proper response, the message must be targeted, easy-to-interpret and shouldn’t lack distinction.
Industry had already realized the inconvertibility of the situation concerning the photoprinting. Largest exhibitions of 2006, such as PMA Expo (Orlando) and Photokina (Cologne) are marked with considerable efforts of forming new consumer’s stereotypes and involving women as an active buyer group. Scrapbooking, an exceptionally popular event in the USA (printing of photoalbums, ornamented with heartlets and flowers), has already crossed the Atlantic.
Since recently maximal convenience and adaptability to streamlined manufacture became indispensable requirements for photoprint production (which earlier was loosing out to photographic surveying equipment). It’s great that Lomond has a very successful solution – self-adhesive photopapers, which, together with the albums and software constitute a unique complex product, designed for arrangement, keeping and demonstration of memorable photo collections. We are offering our readers a chance to estimate convenience of usage of photo adhesives. Share your experience with us and we’ll share it with all the readers of TLR.
