Lomond inks are produced under recent chemical technology standards on the facilities of world leaders of the industry. The inks are designed to provide the highest quality of inkjet imaging, as well as print durability and resistance to harmful environmental agents. An example of how it is performed is shown on Figure 1. Anionic dye (inks) is interacting with cationic polymer (inkjet paper coating). The coating is made up of fine powder silica as a white pigment in a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) binder with mixed-in cationic polymer as dye-fixing agent. Finally, the dye is complexed with polycation, Thus ink fixing becomes complete and stable, providing image durability.
