Color indication

Most of the universal media such as ordinary office paper and, especially, modern sized papers are quiet suitable for inkjet printing.

However, a special coating is needed to provide true photo quality imaging. Coatings, consisting of a mixture of china clay, latex and other loadings fill up surface pits and improve the printing surface. Due to the absence of fibers in the upper layer of the medium, no capillary action wicking takes place and as a result the image appears sharper. Special additions to the coating substances provide effective ink absorption and exact colorant distribution.

There are a variety of coating methods, including: roll coating, airknife coating, cast coating and more, or combinations of these types. Modern nano-technologies have brought to the industry most advanced microporous coatings. All these coatings can be applied to different substrate. Paper is the most common substrate, but there is a great variety of different materials such as plastic, paper-plastic combinations, and specialty media that can be used for high quality imaging due to inkjet coatings.

Lomond inkjet single- or double-side coated media include different sorts of paper, polyester films, canvas and other specialty media. As Lomond product range contains more than 500 articles and constantly increases, a special color indication was developed for packaging to guide a customer through the range to a required product. This uniform indication system enables a customer to recognize a desired product at first sight even before reading the inscription.
